JUST DANCE!!

So once again, we have found a new beloved game to play on our Wii! (I think we are probably considered losers now!) It's called Just Dance. I am sure you all have seen the commercials, but it is as fun as it looks. A WORKOUT too! I haven't sweat this much since I was a cheerleader! Normally I wouldn't post pictures of me where I look like crap, but the moment was just too funny! My brother, who has probably never danced a day in his life was kicking my butt too!! So the bottom 2 videos are of the kids doing the Womanizer dance. I video taped it on my cell, so the picture isn't very great. It was hilarious to watch their little hips shake, as they tried to do the moves correctly! The bottom video is actually the 1st one, and the top video is the 2nd part.

Baby K is 7 months old. Time is flying, and I have already started thinking about a First Birthday Celebration. She loves this toy, Santa brought it. It will entertain her forever. Heck, it entertains all of my children. They are so silly! Just thought I would stick a picture up!! Addy, and Ty wanted in on one too!

Potty Training Blues

So here we ago again!!! It's time to start the potty training. I don't know why, but I can't get excited about it. So I have decided I have the potty training blues! :( I just don't want to go through the hustle! I want her to magically just start going. So anyway I am starting to prepare her. We pulled out all the potty books, got her a cooshy tooshy potty seat, and bought some panties. I think it just took so long to potty train my boys, that I am nervous about her! Right now is the perfect time though...it isn't busy summer time, she is home with Clint for part of the week. I guess I just need a game plan, and some organization. Has anyone out there ever tried that 3 day potty training thing? Did it work for you? Addyson is very smart. I am not worried that she wont figure out how to do it. My worries are...is she still too little? and Is her stubborn personality going to keep her from doing it, because it isn't what she wants!?! (Well not all the time) Let me tell you about this past weekend. On Friday evening I was changing her diaper. About an hour later she said, "I need to go potty." I said okay let's do it! I put her on the potty, and she sat there until she actually went pee-pee. I rewarded her with an M&M. Then I put panties back on her. Until bedtime. Yesterday, she refused the panties, and wanted to wear a diaper. Well later in the day she came upstairs butt naked. I asked her, "Addy where are your clothes?" she said, "I took them off." So I went downstairs, to find her clothes off in the bathroom, and her diaper in the trash can. (she had pooped in the diaper, and thrown it away.) I guess I just needed to vent! Potty training is exhausting! Please if anyone has ideas share!! :)

Preston’s International Dance Program

First of all—No I didn’t enroll my son in dance incase anyone was worried. I will wait for Addy. :) Preston’s school was involved in a Dance program where a artist/dance instructor came in, and taught them international dances. Preston’s class got to perform a dance from Germany. It was called “Ach Ya”. It was very neat to watch. He did a great job. There was one point where his cute little hat fell off, and he looked so worried. He picked it up, and kept going though! I can’t believe the time that went in to teaching these little kids these dances. It was very neat. There were 16 dances from all over the world being performed. The costumes were very amazing too. Every song had a clothing piece, that would be similar to one they would actually wear. It was very cool. Look out Dancing with the Stars! These kids Rock! (Preston’s cute partner)

Letting go, and giving back!

I’m not one to make New Year’s Resolutions. I find that I only stick with them for a week or so, then I am right back to my old habits. Although, I did think about some new challenges, and goals I should set for myself, and my family this year. I have a little bit of OCD. Especially when it comes to the way my house looks, and is organized. I can stress myself out so badly over the dumbest things. So I did some deep thinking, and realized that a lot of my stress comes from not being able to keep up with everything around the house. So I decided a new goal for myself would be to let go of some of “my” household chores. I know I have needed to do this for a while, but I think sometimes I get so busy-- it’s easier to do it myself then teach the kids how to do it. Well this past weekend we worked really hard on learning how to do the kitchen chores. My kids have done small things here or there in the kitchen, and they do have their own chores they do daily. We just worked on some “deeper cleaning things”. I must say I have enjoyed it so much. (Washing &rinsing & drying dishes!) (Sweeping & mopping!)

I really feel like I am giving back to them too. They complain, and don’t really want to do it. I know in the long run-- they will appreciate this. Learning cooperation, life skills, and responsibility. I remember washing dishes with my Dad at such an early age (2 to be exact…no I am not kidding). I am grateful for all he taught me when it comes to maintaining a home. I love my little family! I am so glad I get the privilege to be their Mom. ♥

Sweet little Kaitlon figured out that her hands are made for waving! I was saying goodbye to a friend that stopped by, and she waved to her!! It was so cute! I was very excited. I love watching her grow up. I love listening to her baby babbling--she was babbling so much during Relief Society, I had to leave. Now if we could just get her to keep a hold of her bottle! ☺

Tyson’s First Talk

So this may be a silly post, but I can’t help but write about it. Tyson was asked to speak in primary today. If you know my little Tyson, you have probably noticed he has his own little speech issues. Which I really should write a whole post about—you wouldn’t believe what I have been going through to get him in speech. Anyway, back to primary. He was so excited, and so nervous. It was amazing to prepare with him. He tried really hard to memorize it. To say it all “right”, and speak clearly. Thanks to some cool pictures I had, he was able to remember a lot of it. Once he got up there though, he still wanted help. He did a great job, especially for how nervous he got. He has such a sweet little spirit about him. I am thankful for the gospel. That our sweet little children have the opportunity to prepare, and speak for their peers. There is nothing sweeter then listening to their cute little testimonies, and the spirit that they have. So here was his cute little talk:

‘I know Heavenly Father, and Jesus loves us. They let us come to the earth. They gave us our bodies, so we can learn, and play. They gave us homes with good parents, and families. They gave us Temples so we can be sealed to our families forever. Heavenly Father gave us a Prophet, and teachers to teach, and guide us. Jesus showed us how to return to Father in Heaven, by being baptized, showing us how to love one another, how to forgive, and repent if we make a mistake. I can feel their love when I keep the commandments, go to church, read my scriptures, pray, and make good choices. I can show the love I have for them when I am doing those things, and when I serve others. It makes me happy to know that Heavenly Father loves me and wants me to return to live with him again. I know that this happy feeling comes from the Holy Ghost. I know that if we will learn to love our Heavenly Father and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, we can be happy in this life, and in the life to come.’

I have to say I bought these books for Family Home Evening activities. They have come in handy for talks, games, singing time, I use a lot of them to go along with preschool songs. (They have the Wheels on the Bus, Old Mc Donald’s Farm, Twinkle Twinkle, etc…) They come pre colored, you just have to cut them out, and laminate. I love them! You can get them at Desert Book or Seagull Book and Tape. Or online.

Our Weekend

Wow, this past weekend has been busy, and crazy! On Friday, we came home from school, as I started cleaning I realized that Clint’s pet snake was dead. We have had him for 4 years. The kids were really bummed, and wanted me to go buy a new one. Then I had to explain to them that they were expensive, and we can’t just run right out, and get a new one. I couldn’t touch it either. It freaked me out. SO it had to sit in it’s cage until Clint got home. :( We think that his heater quit working, and neither one of us realized it. So it got too cold. :( Saturday, the kids and I hung out at home. We did some more cleaning, and had pizza, and watched movies. Then on Sunday, we went to church. I am really enjoying our Relief Society Lessons this year. Although, I do not care for our 1-4 schedule. It’s sooo hard with the kids. Addyson & Kaitlon are both so tired! Ugh! It’s so hard some days. Monday was more exciting. I took Kaitlon in for her 6 month well check. She had to get 3 shots, poor baby! :( Then the doctor gave her another antibiotic, since her double ear infection didn’t clear up. She has dropped to the 10th percentile in weight. She does weigh 14lbs though. She is in the 25th percentile in height, and head circumference. So she is little! :) Like Addy. After, Clint let me go celebrate A.J.’s birthday with him. So A.J. and I went to the movies, and lunch. It was really fun! Nice to get away for a minute. We saw The Lovely Bones. It was good, but made me sad. When I got home we decided to go to Chuck E. Cheese for Family Night. The kids love that place! Clint and I were also having a good time. We ended up with 560 tickets, and the kids walked away with handfuls of prizes. Sorry no pictures. :(

Super Mario Brothers Wii

A.J. bought our family Super Mario Brothers for Christmas. Since I have been off work for several days, we have been working on this game as a family. It kills me that we can sit in front of the Wii, and play that game for hours. It’s awful!!! Although, it’s been nice to have something to do since it’s so cold! We did finally beat the game, to unlock the secret world #9. Unfortunately you have to have all the star coins before you can play the levels in that. :( So now we have to get those. :) I would recommend this game, especially if you grew up playing Super Mario Bros.

A Little off the Top

Kaitlon has had a bit of a come-over for a while now. So we decided to clean it up a little. I am very glad that Clint has had some training when it comes to hair cuts. He cuts the boys’ hair, and can trim anything that is needed. Although, I haven’t braved letting him trim mine. :) It looks great now!! I am very pleased. She did pretty well—she just kept trying to look at everyone.

Dinner with an Old Friend

The weekend after Christmas, I was able to go to dinner with a friend of mine from High School. I have only seen her probably 3 times since we were Juniors. She married a boy from Utah, and they were out here visiting. So I jumped on the opportunity to have dinner with her. :) So much has changed since then--but it was so fun to catch up. She and I cheered together for 3 years. We had a blast!! She is the one sitting above me in the first picture. This picture was taken in 1998. FOREVER AGO!!! Then this is the two of us after dinner. I am so glad we have stayed in contact. I couldn't survive life without my friends!!!!

New Years Fun

On New Years Eve we spent the whole day down in Lehi. Clint hasn’t seen his Grandma in a long time so we stopped in to visit. She wanted some pictures with us, since we had our camera. She also wanted some of just me, and Clint. Too bad I am laughing in them.                                                                                                               After visiting we ran a few errands, then we went to Clint’s brothers house. They did a big dinner with breakfast foods. The kids LOVED it!! We sat around visiting, and chatting until it was time to play the dice game.                                                                                                                                                      The dice game is a Ferguson Family tradition. One I know Clint wants to carry on. Basically his mom get’s prizes and fills the table with them. Then you can pick a prize when you roll doubles. If you get double doubles then you get to pick a bigger prize. The bigger prizes have money, coins, gift cards. So it’s really very fun! The kids even get to do their own table. So it’s like mini Christmas all over again!                                              After the dice game, we chatted, played games, played the wii, the kids watched some movies. It was fun! All 4 of my kids stayed awake to bring in the New Year! I couldn’t believe it.                                                                                                      After the countdown, the men got hungry and needed some cereal. If you know the Ferguson boys you know why this is funny!!!! They all love cereal!                                                                                                       We got home shortly before 2:00 am. So we slept in until 10:00. Then we spent the day at home cleaning, and doing some work they really needed taken care of. Clint is off this weekend, and it’s been very fun to have him around.  Best wishes to all of you in this New Year!
