Snow Day at Weber State Preschool

Tyson has so much fun going to Preschool at Weber State University. They do so many fun things with them. We have had enough snow that they were able to get Tubes out and let the kids sled. I watched him go over and over for 30 minutes. I am sure his poor teacher was so tired of pushing him down. He has such a great time!! He is also learning so much!! Some of the pictures are blurry. I was taking pictures from inside the building, through the window. I didn't want to interrupt class time. :)

Our Trip To Hardware Ranch

We took a trip to Hardware Ranch today. The kids had a lot of fun! Grandpa likes to take them out to explore nature. It was amazing to see all of the Elk. The Rancher told us there 540 Elk in the meadow today. He also shared that one male Elk can breed enough female Elk to have anywhere from 10-50 Elk babies. Phew! Can you even Imagine?!? They also shared that the average size of a newborn Elk is 35lbs. I am grateful I don't have to carry something that heavy!! We really had a good time. We love the drive, and the beautiful Utah scenery. We were glad that my Dad invited us to come along.

How Well Do You Know Your Husband??

On facebook they always have these little surveys you can take. I did this one today. I thought it would be fun to see how well I really knew Clint.

3. What's one food he doesn't like? He usually eats anything--he doesn't care for spaghetti, and I am pretty sure he would never eat sushi.
4. You go out to eat and have a drink. What drink does he order? MT. Dew
5. Where did he go to high school? Lehi High School
6. What size shoe does he wear? 10-10 1/2 depends on the shoe
7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be? He collects coins from his dad, and guns--he may not think he collects them, but once you have more then 2 you are collecting.
8. What is his favorite type of sandwich? if it's from Subway it's a meatball marinara with a little mustard, mayo, lettuce and American cheese :P it makes me sick to watch him eat it. If he is home he usually eats PB&J toasted and dunked in milk.
9. What would this person eat every day if he could? Cookies--No bake
10. What is his favorite cereal? Frosted Flakes
11. What would he never wear? He hates sweater Vests--I think they are so handsome--although, if I forced him to wear it he would.
12. What is his favorite sports team? He doesn't really follow sports--so he usually picks for a particular team that's playing and goes for them. He does support Michigan Wolverines (more to suck up to my family :] )
13. Who did he vote for? He didn't vote this year---he couldn't get off work. At least I am pretty sure he didn't.
14. Who are his best friends? All time Best Friends- Ryan and Jason, now he would say I don't have best friends. I guess it will have to be me. :)
15. What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn't do? Play on the computer so much :) or be stubborn and argue with him. OR let him decide how many children we will have.
16. How many states has he lived in ? Only Utah, he did serve a mission in the Charleston-WVA area.
17. What is his heritage? Um, his dad has some Scottish I believe. And his mom has Tridell hahaha---I consider that heritage. :) I really have no clue.
18. You bake him a cake for his birthday, what kind of cake? I think he likes German Chocolate--but that may be my mom. I hate it so I refuse to make it. So I guess really I would just make a chocolate cake and then make sure we had Oreo Cookie Ice cream!!
19. Did he play sports in high school? yes, he wrestled and played football a bit.
20. What could he spend hours doing? watching T.V. or building something.
21. What is something cool about him? He is very Handy, he can fix just about anything. If he can't he figures it out by calling other people or looking up on the Internet. He usually can figure it out and fix it. He is also a great dad.

When I got his answers he told me...his mom had Great Brittan heritage, and he actually doesn't mind sushi, but hates zucchini. Oh, and he did vote this year. I was under the impression he didn't. So I think I did a pretty great job. I would love to see him answer these about me!!

Things Only A Mother Could Love...

Addy just recently got over strep throat. She is doing much better, and we are grateful for her quick recovery. In the mean time she learned how to blow her nose. I just thought it was so adorable, and wanted to share. Sorry the videos are a bit blurry. That happens when you record on your cell phone. On the first one she wouldn't do it. The second one we finally got her to do it.

When Will It Stop Snowing???

Okay, so I realize it's winter, and I live in Utah, but when will it stop snowing? I am not a fan of the winter. I do not ski, or snowboard, and I only go sledding if I am not pregnant. I absoulutley hate snow clothes, boots, gloves, and hats. (That stems from the years of teaching preschool) As soon as you get them on, the children have to use the bathroom, or something else, which then requires you to have to take them all off again. So today it's snowing, yet again. It hasn't even been that bad this year, well compared to last year. They closed the hill we lived on for a while, and had to re-route the traffic. I never know if the bus is going to be bringing Preston home, and I hate driving in this!! The mail has yet to come, and I am waiting for my paycheck. Not too mention we have been shoveling (when I say we I mean A.J.) for over an hour, and it looks as though nothing has been touched. Then to top it off--I hear the dog freaking out. So I go outside to see what is wrong with him. Then I realized he was barking at the tree branch that broke from the tree. The snow was just too heavy! The picture I took really doesn't do it justice, but it's a pretty large branch. I can't get into the dog kennel, because the snow is so high. So, my poor dog just may freeze or starve to death today. So anyway, I guess I just wanted to complain! I hate winter!! I am so ready for spring! Our Backyard!

100 Days Celebration

Preston's 100 days of school celebration is coming up next week. They asked the children to create something using 100 objects. After, much discussion of what would be the best to use, Preston decided he wanted to use red m&m's. I asked Preston what he wanted to make using 100 red m&m's...he told me I want to make a red m&m. So this is what we came up with... Preston gluing the red m&m's on.

How to make Valentine's Mice

Hello friends! Today was Preston's Valentine's Day Party in his Kindergarten class. I am one of the room mom's--and today I got to do the craft for the party. I thought this was a fun, easy, and quick project, and I just thought I would share. The supplies needed are: 2 hershey kisses, a paper heart (aprox. 1 inch), 1 very small pom pom, 2 small googlie eyes, and tacky glue. The only prep I did for this project is cutting out the hearts, and cutting off the Hershey Kiss tag on one of the candies.

I had the kids start by gluing one of the Hershey Kisses to the paper heart. Then letting the paper rest against the Hershey kiss...I had the kids glue the second Hershey Kiss to the heart. I gave them a couple minutes to set up. Next, we took a little dot of glue and glued the small pom pom to the top of the Hershey Kiss without the tag. Last, we glued two tiny dots on the Hershey Kiss to apply the googlie eyes.

We allowed them to dry for about 3-5 minutes. I entertained them by having them come up with names for their mice, thinking of what their mice might eat, where they need to live, etc... Like I said, it was a real quick and easy Valentine's project.

Highlights from 2008

Well I decided since I just started this blog I should catch you up on last years excitement. I appolagize I seem to be missing some fun pictures. Last March, Addy and I, traveled across the country with my dad and David to pick A.J. up from his mission. It was a fun and crazy experience traveling across the country with a Newborn. Although, in all reality she didn't do too bad.
In June, we took a family camping trip up to west canyon. The kids love camping! We really have a great time doing this activity. We are free to ride horses, four wheelers, eat, sleep, play games, shoot guns, and just have a great time together.

We also took our first family trip to Disneyland!! The kids had such a wonderful time. They got to see and meet most of their favorite characters.

Addy loved Minnie Mouse's nose. She tried to grab it and the person inside the costume didn't like it too much! Oh well!!

The kids really were having a blast!! I think they got so worn out though!! Lot's of stimulation!!

They loved riding the rides! Preston's favorite was the Tower of Terror. Tyson was still too little to ride that. He loved the Go-Go Gadget Coaster!

We also took the kids to the beach for the first time! We loved Hunnington Beach! It was very nice. The kids weren't too sure about the ocean for the first time...

...although, they loved the sand! So did Daddy! He loved what he could do to the kids in the sand!

In August, Preston started Kindergarten. I bawled, and bawled!! I survived the first day. Now I can't wait for him to go to school everyday! I am also looking forward to him going to full day school when he starts 1st grade!! YEAH!!!

For Halloween we decided to have a theme this year. So the kids dressed up as Peter Pan...

...and Tinkerbell. They loved trick or treating and got sooo much candy we still have some! Next year they have decided that we need to all dress up as Super heroes. Daddy and Mommy too! They have all our costumes picked out and decided for us.

Oh, December! The busiest time of the year!! We did so much this month I didn't dare post too many pictures. Besides visiting Santa, making food for the reindeer.

Picking presents for family and friends. Going to Christmas parties, making cookies, visiting Christmas village.

Crying, stressing, excitment, and so much hyperness....we really had a wonderful Christmas Season.

I think the kids got every thing they wanted...in reason!

We had a really fun holiday together!

Oh yes, it was a busy year! Although, we created lot's of fun and new memories, and traditions. We hope that this new year brings us many more!! We wish the best for all of you too!

The world of blogging...

Okay, so I decided to do this blog thing, because my friend Shannon kept asking me to join. So seriously, I have been in front of the computer since 10:00 am this morning. Minus stopping to feed and dress the kids, and take Preston to school. So 5 hours and 45 minutes later...I think I have this figured out for the most part. (Thanks again Shannon!!) My poor children, they're really going to start thinking that I love the computer more then them. :) In all seriousness, I am looking forward to blogging. Being able to get to know more about everyone, and letting you get to know more about us. Not to mention keeping in touch better! Hope everyone is doing well.

It's a girl!!

Well, in November, Clint and I discovered a surprise coming our way. A new baby!! It took us a little while to get over the shock, but we are excited to announce!! We found out on Wednesday we will be blessed with another little girl! I can't even tell you how excited I am. We have decided to name her Kaitlon Nancy Ferguson. Both Clint and I really like the name Kaitlon. He plans to call her Katie for short. If you are wondering why we are spelling it that way, it's because I am anal and all of my kids names have to end in "on". Her middle name is after my Grandma Dennison. I never got to meet her, she died when my dad was 15 yrs. old. Although, I have heard stories of how she was strong, independent, and loved her children. Not to mention she was beautiful! So with both names meanings, hopefully, we will have a pure and gracious little girl!!
