Graduation x 2

Tyson was lucky enough to get to attend 2 kindergarten programs this year! He would come with me to work and go to the first one. Then head to his regular school! So he has graduated from kindergarten twice in a 24 hour period! WAY TO GO, TYSON!!! I am really proud of him and how far he has come. He loved his school teacher, Mrs. Koer. We will miss having her as his teacher. She asked Tyson in the year 2033 what he wanted to be, he said, "I want to be a billionaire." Only Tyson! His speech, handwriting, and general skills have improved so much this year! I can't believe he is off to FIRST GRADE!! Congrats Buddy! We are so proud of you!

~SnEaK PeEk~

Clint's Grandma has been on our case about family pictures lately. So I finally caved and told Clint we would get some done. I was even trying to plan to do them before Mother's Day, but the weather has stalled that. We had these done 2 weeks ago...and she just posted some to facebook. I was so excited! (It made my day!!) I had to steal a couple early and post them to our blog. Stephanie was so patient with us! Especially our little Kaitlon--whose picture is adorable! I can't wait to see the rest of our pictures! For now...here is a little sneak peek! There are more on her facebook page; Patchwork Photography. She does an amazing job!! She is so affordable. I recommend her! Thank you so much Stephanie. {PRESTON}

Harry Potter Craze!

So it looks like we have finally "caught up with the times" and decided that we are Harry Potter fans! I have read some of the books before--but I had never finished the series. I know you all think I am crazy when I say I don't enjoy reading. It's not really the reading part I dislike. It's the always being interrupted, having to stop, mind wandering part that I dislike. Haha! So we decided we would start at Book 1 and listen to them as a family.Yes, we are cheating. We have been listening to the Books on CD. Well we have soared through them and we are getting close to the end of Book 3. That's a record for our family! I am not 100% sure how much each child has "heard", but Preston is enjoying it! The boys have loved watching the movies. And we have slowly let them see more and more. I think are stopping at The Goblet of Fire (#4), because I had sleeping buddies that night. I think we are a bit obsessed. I have planned Preston's 9th Harry Potter Themed Birthday Party-already. (His birthday is in September) And we have already decided that being Harry Potter characters for Halloween would be way fun, too! Or the fact that I told Clint the only thing I really want to do for my birthday this year is to go to dinner and see HP 7 part 2. (It comes out on my birthday).

I didn't realize how obsessed we had become until Tyson drew me these pictures:

Then I decided it wasn't just the kids. It was me too...My Harry Potter Easter Egg!

"From there to here, from here to there, funny things are everywhere!"

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss! How did we celebrate?? We celebrate in style.... The boys got to dress up at school again this year. Preston was so excited and had planned what he wanted to do. He was going to be Thing 1 and Tyson was going as Thing 2! We worked really hard on getting the costumes put together. (Including the blue pom-pom hair) Then on Tuesday Preston came down with Strep Throat. What a bummer!! He was miserable and couldn't go to school today. He was a good sport though and put his stuff on long enough to get a picture with Tyson.
It was also early out day today--so after school Tyson watched "The Cat in the Hat" and popped popcorn!! Then he requested GREEN EGGS & HAM for dinner!! We actually found several of the movies on a website. So the kids watched their favorite Dr. Seuss stories come to life!
Oh yes, we did have GREEN EGGS & HAM for dinner. Preston doesn't not like green eggs and ham! The rest of the kids ate them up!! I didn't color the ham, I was running out of time. The kids have been so hungry lately. If I don't have dinner on the table by 5:00--the WHINING starts!! It was a pretty fun day, minus the strep.

"Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one."

Oh, psst...Macey's Grocery Store is doing a Dr. Seuss Celebration this Saturday. From 11-1. Cookie decorating, stories, and more.

12 Days of Christmas--Day #10

School Sing-along, and Pajama Party.
There was so much going on at school on Day #10, that it had to count. The sing-along was cute. The second grade sang Silent Night, and did Sign Language with it. Then both kids did different class activities in their pajamas! It was a fun day!!

~Preschool Pictures~

It's that time of year again, picture time. I am a looser Mom. I never buy the school pictures! They're way expensive. And I do not love their quality. So I feel bad...Preston never has pictures!! One of these days, we will have family pictures done, and I will get an individual done of Preston! Since Tyson still comes to work with me in the morning, he got his taken. Here were my favorites... Tyson & Addy's Birthday Party

We had a Toy Story themed Birthday Party for Tyson & Addy. We had to do their birthdays together this year. We played darts, had an obstacle course, and pin the parts on the potato. We also ordered Pizza Planet Pizza a.k.a Little Caeser's. We made alien cupcakes, and drank green alien juice. It was a LOT of fun! We were very glad to have friends over, and are very thankful for everyone who came!!

Tyson, Addyson, Grandpa Birthday Celebration

My Dad, Addyson, and Tyson all have birthdays very close to each other. So we had a little party this weekend for them.

Tyson turned 6!!!

Tyson turned 6, and we celebrated by having a fun family dinner at home. He wanted Birthday Brownies this year!! :)

HUNTING

Clint loves hunting, sometimes too much. I guess it's one of those things I have to love about him, but I am not sure why he does it. :) This year he wanted to take the boys. They left Thursday afternoon and have been gone since then. It has reminded me, a little too much, of how nice it is to only have 2 kids. It's been so quiet. No fighting, wrestling, screaming, Addy sure can talk though! I was able to steal these pictures from my SIL's facebook page. I got to talk to them last night, they are having fun, but they are cold and wet. They have tried twice to shoot a Buck, and haven't been fast enough. They were going to try a little more today, then head home.
I think it's awesome Clint shared this experience with them. I sure hope he doesn't draw out next year...but don't tell him I said that! ;)

Tyson goes to Kindergarten…

2010-09-01

My “Woogie” started Kindergarten today! He was so big and brave. Not like last week at Back to School Night, when I thought he may seriously throw up. (He was very nervous.) I was able to leave work early to be there for this momentous occasion.  I was so happy to be able to take a picture at his desk, and make sure he knew what he was doing. It was awesome! When we pulled up to the school, I told Tyson to lead the way. He went right to class, he knew right where to go, and what to do!! I can already tell he will love it. He told me all about reading the book “The Kissing Hand”, and how he played with animals. And hey, 2 kids in school, I think I’m gonna love this. :)

We had a celebration dinner for Back to School. Then did HOMEWORK! I tried to be funny. I told Preston, “April showers bring May flowers, and back to school brings homework.”  He just gave me that, ‘You are SO weird’ look.

Oh, on another note, I managed to fight back the tears this year. That’s right! Me, the person that cries over Johnson & Johnson baby commercials, managed not to cry. I was very proud of myself. I hope we can survive this year, and these crazy kindergarten schedules!

*RoDeO* Post 1 of 2

ogdenpioneer

We let Tyson try his luck at Muttin’ Bustin this year. It was a very interesting experience. Quite different from the one we had with Preston. Tyson was first, and they put him on the sheep. Not more then 5 seconds later this guy was pulling him off. Neither Clint or I are sure what happened. We don’t know if he was falling, and the guy tried to prevent it. Or did Tyson tell him he was done, and wanted to get off?! We have no clue! We can’t seem to get anything from Tyson. The only thing he says is “The guy pulled me off.” He got a score of 65. Which was still good compared to some riders. He was most definitely one of the youngest riders, and I think that gave him a disadvantage. We are still really proud of Tyson. We try to encourage the kids to do different things, and try things that are new. He said, “I was really scared, and those sheep go fast MOM!” He wants to try again next year!! So we are looking forward to that. Way to go Tyson!! Yee-Haw!!

Kindergarten here we come...

Tyson's Pre-K graduation was this week. I can't believe I have another one going to public school! YAY!! I do, however, wish that it was full day kindergarten, and not 1/2 day. So it will be another crazy year of driving. Bummer! :( I am really looking forward to him getting started in school, and we have been working hard on stuff. Plus, speech is over now for the summer. So I can't wait for him to start that up again! Tyson we are so proud of you!!
